Yes, this really is a game about guiding a hot water bottle down a waterfall, discovering secrets and winning trophies. Because there still aren't enough games about hot water bottles.

This was a work in progress for about half a year. I can't describe how much (metaphorical) sweat and tears this cost me, though it certainly doesn't look it. There's still a couple of glitches (let me know if you find any!) but for now I'm just glad I was able to finish it. It's also the first game I've made that takes longer than five minutes to play. Comments and feedback are always welcome!

*NOTE* Sometimes the music doesn't play correctly in the demo version if you're using Firefox. So far I haven't been able to fix this, so it's probably best to use another browser for now.

*EXTRA NOTE* I've uploaded a new demo file. Tubby now moves slightly faster and the waterfall doesn't speed up quite as much so hopefully it won't make people's eyes feel so swimmy.

Controls:  (Surfing) Left and right arrow keys to dodge obstacles.

(Exploring Caves) Left and right to move, Space bar to advance dialogue and enter rooms. Shift key to save. Most rooms have on screen prompts.

Cute game! The art style is pretty adorable. I like the progression the game offers each time you fail. Those sea shanties are pretty hilarious as well!

I think the game gets very difficult as the speed increases the further you progress. There isn’t enough time to react and moving isn’t instantaneous. (It has a small build up before you get going in a left or right direction.) Maybe some tweaks to the acceleration of the map and character could fix these issues.

Regardless, it’s a cute and fun time! Great work!

Hi, thanks for the feedback and video!

The game's supposed to get tricky as it speeds up. :)

I had a lot of issues with the speed though, whatever I did it was either too fast or too slow. My laptop's also a bit slow so it could be I didn't realise how quickly it was moving on other devices. I'll try tweaking it later as I need to readjust some of the fonts.
